About Us

Our Philosophy

Everyone has the potential to grow and overcome their hang-ups through self-awareness and active participation in their personal development journey. It is important to realize that we all have areas where we may feel stuck or held back, but it is within our power to break free from these limitations. By engaging with a ministry that offers support and guidance, individuals can receive the tools and encouragement needed to become an "ex" from those hang-ups. Embracing this process requires intention, determination, and a willingness to confront uncomfortable truths about oneself. Ultimately, by acknowledging our hang-ups and taking proactive steps to address them, everyone has the opportunity to experience profound transformation and lead a more fulfilling life.

Jimmy Smith

Jimmy is a Peer Educator and Ambassador for the Texas Prison Alliance at the Ellis Unit in Huntsville, Texas. Over the course of more than twenty-five years of incarceration, Jimmy has dedicated his life to service, mentorship, and spiritual growth. His journey has included serving as a Life Coach for Death Row at the Polunsky Unit in Livingston, Texas, and as a N.O.D.A. (No One Dies Alone) Coach in the hospice ward at the Michael Unit in Tennessee Colony, Texas.

Through perseverance and faith, Jimmy has earned multiple ministerial degrees, equipping him to guide others toward healing and transformation. His mission is to bring lasting, positive change to the culture within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice by fostering empathy, accountability, and hope among those incarcerated.

In 2023, Jimmy and his wife, Stacey, founded Inside Out Prison Ministry, a faith-based organization dedicated to reuniting families of the incarcerated—beginning from the inside out. Their ministry focuses on restoration, reconciliation, and rebuilding lives through spiritual and emotional support.

Jimmy’s current goal is to become a Peer Support Coach, a role that will allow him to continue helping others overcome addiction and trauma. Upon his release, he aspires to become a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) and motivational speaker. Together with Stacey, start a ministry focused on feeding both the body and the soul of those in need.
